Official mixtape from Kanye West. Ya the dude is egotistical but can you blame him? He makes good music. The mixtape got a bunch of old school soul that he used to sampled for his songs. I think too many people are too focused on the new shit that comes out they forget about where it all came from; the history, the roots. When I hear a new joint I always try to name the song or songs that was used to sample for the beat, it's like a game I play to keep my memory from decay. Cause reefer will do that to you... And if you don't know, now you know.
Yes that's right, free toys. Print it out on paper then put it together, it's pretty dope. Courtesy of Japanese designer Shin Tanaka, he also provides a template so you can design your own. Check it out here.
Not only did I find a Bill Withers album, I found four. I will post them all up... eventually. I am still trying to enjoy all the albums I "appropriated" staying up all night. No school till summer classes starts in two weeks, finished my job interview that couldn't go any better, sleep all day and stay up all night, going to Riverside this weekend to visit and maybe blaze one up. Damn it feels good to be a gangster. This upload is for you Petey.
Bill Withers is the man. I've been looking all over for his albums, if I find one I'll post it up. (I just noticed this but pay really close attention to the drummer, he's really happy...)
I've been thinking about this music business, how we should support the artists that we love by buying their albums instead of downloading them... And I think that's obvious, but it's not practical. I am a hungry college student, if I had a large amount of disposable income I would go and buy like 15 albums every week. But I don't, and most of y'all don't, but I ain't going to let a lack of money stop me from enjoying music. So I download with reckless abandon, keep all the shit that I like, delete the ones that I don't. One thing that I would definite spend money on tho is going to concerts to support my favorite artist, maybe that's something the music industry to should pay more attention to... Organizing great concerts instead of putting garbage on the radio.

I can't go to sleep! If it was up to me, I wouldn't sleep at night anyways. I function better at night, I guess I am nocturnal.
It's like 3am and shit, and I got mad thoughts in my head. Like... how many fucking collabos these dudes in the streetwear industry going to do? Everyday I read about 15 collabos these cats done did with these other dudes... Check out freshness and hypebeast right now and you'll see what I mean. I thought it was tight when it all started, but it's just getting out of hand now. Does anybody even find collabos exciting anymore?

I was reading hypebeast when I came across this from Mishka NYC, it's interesting to see how they come up with the designs that they do. Design Discectomy.
If Wu Tang is forever? I am one of the biggest Wu Tang fan. No I don't have every single one of their albums but I love their music, their style, their philosophies; and with the beats and the rhymes, they always on point. If you know Wu Tang then you know why they ain't nothing to fuck with. With Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II coming out, it's only proper to share with y'all two of my favorite albums.
The one that started it all: Enter the 36 Chambers
Ghost & Rae at their finest: Only Built 4 Cuban Linx
But now I'm all about G-notes, no time for weed, mixed with coke I wash my mouth out with soap And I got my act together, 'Lo sweaters and better and fat leather, so whatever, bring it on
I've been getting kind of lazy at this blog shit, maybe I really am fucking lazy. But anyways, here's the Al Green x Nas album by DJ Swindle and Frank Lyon, the Almatic. This one is for you DK.
This album is ill, Kim Jong Ill. Just download this shit right now, it's that good. Ya heard? I can't upload the album cover for some reason so I am just going to post the link.
Frank Miller is fucking delusional. He's the dude who did the comic 300 is based on, and there's a new movie coming out called Pathfinder or some shit. HIS SHIT IS WACK! I can't even comprehend how people find that shit entertaining. The movie was blatant propaganda and the action scenes weren't even that crazy. I get more suspense watching Pokemon. The first two people to die in the movie are black, the anti-war movement is portrayed as evil motherfuckers and traitors, the Persian king Xerxes is a homo and the Persians are depicted as savages and hedonistic, for some reason they started killing Mongolians and referred to the Persian army as a great force from Asia, and so on.... I ain't even going to go on about Pathfinder, but basically it's a White Viking who is the only hope for the Native Americans... who are getting invaded by the Vikings. Are you motherfuckers serious???
Don't really know too much about these guys, but it's a good album. Jazzy beats, chill music to kick back to. Just look at the album cover, how can you not want to kick it with anyone that funky fresh? Give it a try, don't sleep on this.
Finally after about two weeks of searching I found an Al Green album, this one is titled "I'm Still in Love with You". In case you didn't know, Al Green is the shit! He's one of the most soulful cat there ever was and has been sampled by almost everybody. I'll kick y'all knowledge and list the tracks and song/s that sampled off it.
Ro Blvd did it sick with this one, I had this song on heavy rotation for awhile. The video is worth watching just to see Malcolm X standing up to the man. The Last Poets also make a guest appearance, I think they were the first group to use the n-word in their music and are considered the forerunners of hip hop.
That simple pleasure in life. The moment when you escape from reality and all the bullshit. Just you, a cup of coffee, and a cigarette. Five minutes of peace, bliss, and solitude.
